CAT TRAPS
Since our overnight lows have now been above zero for seven consecutive days the Town of Didsbury has three cat traps available to lease to any Town resident for the trapping of cats.
Residents using traps MUST abide by Town of Didsbury Policy #2006 Trapping of Cats. A $100.00 deposit is required payable by cheque or cash, and will be returned to you once the trap is returned in good working condition.
These traps are typically leased out on a regular basis so there is no guarantee of obtaining a trap the same day you request one however, you will be put on a waiting list and when a trap comes available you will be contacted by the Animal Control Officer. Be advised that if you choose to use your own cat trap, you are required to follow the same guidelines as the ones we set out in with residents leasing our cat traps. Please remember that some of these cats being trapped are someone’s pet, therefore, they deserve the same level of care and attention as any other pet.
The Town of Didsbury Municipal Enforcement provides animal control duties for the Town of Didsbury and Mountain View County. Pictures of animals currently being held in our facility will be posted on this page. If you do not see your pet here, please call 403.335.3391 to make a lost pet report and if your animal is turned in or found by us, we will make every effort to contact you.
Please be aware that pet identification such as tattoos, microchips and tags greatly increase our ability to reunite you with your pet.
If you are a Town of Didsbury resident, you are required by law to buy a tag for your dog(s) and/or cat(s). The cost for dog and cat tags is $15 for altered pets, $30 for unaltered pets. If you purchase or renew your animal license before January 31 of each year, your license fee is only $10 per animal regardless of alteration.
To inquire about a missing pet or report an animal that you have found, contact Town of Didsbury Animal Control at 403.335.7727 during regular business hours. After hours or weekends please call the Town of Didsbury pager at 403.507.3624.
If you are are interested in adopting a dog or cat from our facility, please email Town of Didsbury Municipal Enforcement. or call Animal Control at 403.335.7727. Please leave your name and a contact number that you can be reached at for consideration. Also, if you have a preference for what type of pet you would like to adopt, feel free in detailing that on your email.
The Town of Didsbury is a proud supporter of the Airdrie Humane Society.
