Policies & Priorities

The Policies & Priorities Committee meets every second Tuesday, before regular Council Meetings at 4:30 pm in Council Chambers at the Town Office (1606 14th Street). The purpose of Policies & Priorities Committee meetings is to act as a conduit for the two-way flow of information between Council and Administration. 

Topics covered at these meetings include and are not limited to: 
  • Receive delegations, providing an informal exchange of information and ideas.
  • Receive requests for review of a policy or confidential issues from Council.
  • Investigate and review the following areas:
    - Key issues facing the Municipality
    - Setting of Priorities
    - Bylaw Development
    - Business Planning
    - Policy Development
    - Financial Planning and Budget
    - Legal Services and Agreements
    - Land Sale or Purchase, and Negotiations
    - Personnel Matters
    - Economic Development and Tourism
