COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
DIDSBURY LIBRARY MAKERSPACE
Didsbury Library Makerspace is a community oriented space where people can come to create, learn, socialize, and work on projects. This program runs Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, is open to ALL ages, and  is free of charge.
A few things Makerspace includes are:
  •     3D Printer
  •     Arduino
  •     Bamboo tablet
  •     Makey Makey
  •     Adobe Creative Cloud

BOARD GAME MANIA
Is your child bored after school with nothing to do? Drop them off at Didsbury Neighborhood Place every Wednesday, starting January 8, 2014 until March 26, 2014 from 3:30 - 4:30 pm for an hour of game board fun plus a snack! Ages 6 - 12, $3.00 drop in. 

YOUNG CHEFS
This program will instruct children on the basics of kitchen safety while making and enjoying delicious recipes! Ages 5-8. January 31, 2014 from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. $40.00/child. Registration deadline is January 24, 2014. 

FREE FAMILY SWIM
Come down to the Didsbury Aquatic Centre on February 16, 2014 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm for a FREE family swim, sponsored by Didsbury FCSS. 

FUN WITH FRIENDS
This program is for the ages of 8-12 years of age. Brinf a friend and come join Jolene and Stef for a fun morning full of activities on February 20, 2014. We will be participating in a Jazzercise class with a qualified instructor, watching a movie and having a healthy snack. This program will be held at Didsbury Neighborhood Place from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Cost is $15.00/person. We will be walking to the Train Station for Jazzercise. Registration deadline is February 13, 2014. 

HOME ALONE - EASY AS 1, 2, 3!
Prepare and educate your child about the responsibilities of staying home alone with the Home Alone Course. This course will be held on February 20, 2014, from 3:30 - 6:30pm, and February 21, 2014, from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. Any child age 10+ are welcome to attend. If they have a sibling ages 8-9, they can attend alongside their older sibling. Cost is $40.00 for the first child and $30.00 for the second child. Registration deadline is February 13, 2014. 

YOUNG CHEFS II
This program is geared towards children 9 - 12 years of age, and will teach more advanced kitchen safety and cooking techniques.  This program is offered on March 14, 2014 from 9:00 - 1:00 pm. Cost is $40.00. Registration deadline is March 7, 2014. 

BABYSITTING COURSE
Is your child 11 years of age or older and ready to start babysitting? Become a certified babysitter with the Red Cross Babysitting Course. This course will be held on March 14, 2014 from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Cost is $55.00. A lunch and doll will be needed. Registration deadline is March 7, 2014.  

TEEN TRIPLE P SEMINAR SERIES
Triple P is a positive approach to parenting which aims to assist with the healthy development and adjustment of teenagers. This program gives parents specific positive parenting strategies for promoting teenager development, social competence and self control. FREE Seminars will run March 2014 at Didsbury Neighborhood Place.

Seminar One, Raising Responsible Teenagers - March 5, 7:00 - 9:00 pm.
Seminar Two, Raising Competent Teenagers - March 12, 7:00 - 9:00 pm.
Seminar Three, Getting Teenagers Connected - March 19, 7:00 - 9:00 pm. 

STANDARD FIRST AID RECERTIFICATION COURSE
Is your First Aid certificate about to expire? take the one-day Red Cross Recertification Course on March 7, 2014, from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Cost is $95.00 + GST (if adult). Registration deadline is February 28, 2014. Be sure to bring proof of current First Aid certificate, expiry cannot pass the date of recert.  

STANDARD FIRST AID COURSE
Take the Red Cross Standard First Aid Course on April 12 and 13, 2014, from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. This course teaches any array of life-saving skills including: Standard First Aid, CPR and AED. Registration deadline is April 4, 2014.

MOUNTAIN VIEW PARENT LINK CENTRE

Parent Link is free and open to all parents to drop in and play with their children (Ages 0 – 6 years).  Find great toys, parenting books, resources and support for parents.  Also includes parenting classes.  Parenting is a life-long learning experience.  Our goal is to help parents foster optimal development for all their children including children with disabilities.  For program hours, please check the Parent Link website.
